Identification and treatment of skin conditions.
Acute & Sick CareRashes are one of the most common reasons parents bring their child to the pediatrician. Children's sensitive skin is prone to a wide variety of conditions — most are harmless and treatable, but some require prompt attention.
Eczema (atopic dermatitis), contact dermatitis, hives (urticaria), fungal infections (ringworm, athlete's foot), impetigo, viral rashes (roseola, hand-foot-mouth), diaper rash, molluscum contagiosum, warts, insect bite reactions, and heat rash.
Bring your child in if a rash is accompanied by fever, spreads rapidly, involves blistering or open sores, appears after starting a new medication, affects the face or genitals, or doesn't improve with over-the-counter treatment within a few days.
We perform a visual examination, take a detailed history, and determine the cause. Treatment may include topical medications, oral antihistamines, antibiotics for bacterial infections, or referral to a pediatric dermatologist for complex or chronic conditions.
Same-day and same-week appointments available at all 9 locations.
