Our commitment to accessible healthcare for all families. Last updated: March 20, 2026.
American Pediatrics is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people of all abilities. We are continually improving the user experience for everyone and applying the relevant accessibility standards to ensure we provide equal access to all users.
We strive to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA standards. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with disabilities and more user-friendly for everyone. We recognize that some areas of our website may not yet fully meet these guidelines, and we are actively working to address any gaps.
Our website includes the following accessibility features:
Semantic HTML: We use proper heading structure (H1-H6), landmark regions, and semantic elements to support screen readers and assistive technologies.
Alt Text: All meaningful images include descriptive alternative text for screen reader users.
Keyboard Navigation: Core website functionality is accessible via keyboard navigation.
Responsive Design: Our website adapts to different screen sizes and devices, including mobile phones, tablets, and desktop computers.
Aria Labels: Interactive elements such as buttons and navigation controls include ARIA labels for assistive technology compatibility.
Color Contrast: We aim to maintain sufficient color contrast ratios between text and background colors throughout the site.
Readable Fonts: We use clear, legible fonts at appropriate sizes across all pages.
Recognizing the diverse communities we serve across Southern California, American Pediatrics provides multilingual support. Our providers speak English, Spanish, Mandarin Chinese, Arabic, and Hindi. Our patient registration form is available in both English and Spanish.
All 9 American Pediatrics office locations are designed to be physically accessible, with wheelchair-accessible entrances, examination rooms, and restrooms in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
While we strive for full accessibility, some areas may have limitations. Our AI chatbot and third-party integrations (Patient Portal, bill payment) are provided by external services whose accessibility is managed by their respective providers. Some dynamic content generated by JavaScript may not be fully accessible to all assistive technologies. We are continuously working to improve these areas.
We welcome your feedback on the accessibility of our website. If you encounter any accessibility barriers or have suggestions for improvement, please contact us:
